Elastics (Rubber Bands)

Wearing elastics (or rubber bands) improves the fit of your upper and lower teeth. Wear rubber bands as instructed and remember that the rubber bands work far more efficiently if they're worn as prescribed.



Facemask is an extra-oral appliance worn with your braces to correct underbite in a growing child or adolescent.

A fixed functional appliance that works in conjunction with full upper and lower braces to correct the bite efficiently.


Hyrax palatal expander

Fixed appliance cemented to upper teeth to expand the upper jaw for correcting crossbite and regaining space for crowded teeth to erupt.


Separators or Spacers

Separators are little rubber doughnuts that may be placed between your teeth to push them apart so that orthodontic bands may be placed during your next appointment. The separators will be removed before we place the bands. Separators do not mix well with sticky foods, toothpicks, or floss.

Temporary Anchorage Devices

TADs - Temporary Anchorage Devices

Serves as anchor points to allow major tooth movement in the right direction.

Bite Plates

Bite Ramps and Bite Plates

Bite ramps added to the tops of teeth or bite plates cemented to multiple teeth are used when clearance is needed for the teeth to move easily or to prevent one from biting off the braces when the bite is very deep.

Distalizing Arch

Distalizing Arch

A Distalizing Arch works in conjunction with elastic wear and elicit the same treatment response as wearing a headgear with neck or head strap. Definitely easier to wear and less obtrusive than the headgear option.
