Invisalign
Invisalign
treatment is an alternative way of moving teeth without the
placement of any hardware on the teeth. Tooth movement is
accomplished with a series of custom made aligners fabricated by
Align Technology ™, following
the treatment prescribed by the orthodontist. The biggest
advantage of Invisalign treatment is oral hygiene, as the
patient can brush and floss normally. Esthetics is the number 1
reason patients opt for this treatment, as it is totally
invisible. However, treatment progress is only possible with
100% cooperation from the patient in wearing the aligners 24/7,
except for brushing and eating. Not all cases can be treated
with Invisalign. Many difficult movements are not possible with
aligners alone, and may require the use of elastics and tooth
colored attachments placed directly on the teeth.

Problem: Class II Div 2
malocclusion with upper and lower dental crowding in a 20 year
old female.
Treatment: Invisalign treatment
with distalizing of the upper back teeth sequentially to correct
the Class II bite on her right side. At the same time, space was
created for alignment of the crowded upper teeth. Lower crowding
was corrected with dental arch expansion. Total treatment time
is 26 months, using 49 upper and 14 lower aligners, including
one set of refinement aligners.
Problem: Class I malocclusion with upper and lower dental
crowding in a 14y 8m old adolescent male.
Treatment: Invisalign treatment
with interproximal reduction of the upper anterior teeth to
correct the upper crowding, and lower dental arch expansion to
correct the lower crowding. A total of 16 upper and 10 lower
aligners were needed. Total treatment time is 8 months, with no
need for refinement aligners.
Problem: Class II Div 1
malocclusion with upper dental spacing and lower dental crowding
in a 17y 3m old adolescent male.
Treatment: Invisalign treatment
with sequential distalization of the upper back teeth to correct
the Class II bite on the left side. Lower crowding was corrected
with dental arch expansion. Treatment was completed using 17
upper and 13 lower aligners. Total treatment time is 9 months,
with no need for refinement aligners.
Problem: Class I malocclusion with
upper and lower dental spacing, and a 4mm maxillary diastema in
a 32 year old adult female.
Treatment: Invisalign treatment
with interproximal reduction of the lower anterior teeth, which
is needed to enable the lower teeth to be retracted, so that the
upper diastema and dental spaces could be closed completely. A
total of 23 upper and 25 lower aligners, including 2 sets of
refinement aligners, were needed. Treatment time is 15 months.
An upper bonded retainer is placed to prevent the diastema from
reopening.
Problem: Class I Div 2 malocclusion
with upper and lower dental crowding in a 55 year old female.
Treatment: Invisalign treatment
with interproximal reduction and dental arch expansion in both
arches to correct the crowding. Treatment was completed with 29
upper and 24 lower aligners, including 2 sets of refinement
aligners. Total treatment time was 17 months. A lower bonded
cuspid to cuspid retainer was cemented to maintain the
correction of the very rotated lower cuspid teeth.
